Quinceañera Guide

House of Wu - 26029

In your early adulthood, your quinceañera is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate all of your accomplishments and growth. Our helpful timeline can guide you through the planning process to ensure your special day is memorable, exciting, and joyful! For your quinceañera, here's what you need to know:

12-18 Months Out

You should begin planning your quinceañera approximately 12-18 months in advance. Setting a budget, choosing a date, and booking your venue or church are the first steps. Plan your guest list, choose your godparents, and, of course, start researching dresses and themes!

9-12 Months Out

Setting-related basics are decided first, then specifics can be discussed. Order your save-the-dates and invitations about 9-12 months in advance, and choose your damas and chambelanes. Additionally, you'll want to narrow down your dress options to a select few, book your fitting appointments, and choose your theme. Some classic quince themes include Winter Wonderland, Paris, Disney Princess, or even Masquerade Ball themes!

6-9 Months Before

After that, in the six to nine months prior to your quinceañera, you should have already purchased your dress and cake, booked your photographer and ordered your flowers, decor, and party equipment, such as tables, chairs, and linens. Send out your save-the-dates and invitations, and start thinking about your court choreography and tuxedos for your damas and chambelanes!

2-5 Months Out

It's a good idea to prepare a draft of your party itinerary and book hair and makeup appointments about two to five months in advance. The next few weeks will be spent noting RSVPs, attending court practices, finalizing a seating chart, and arranging for vendor deliveries or pick-ups for your dress, flowers, and decor.

1-2 Months Out

Your big day is just two months away, so you'll want to secure any loose ends during these last two months. You should send a finalized guest list over to your caterer so they can verify food and beverage counts. You should also send a personal playlist to your DJ or band, and have your final dress fittings and alterations made. A pre-quince photoshoot and a meeting with ceremony officials about the significance of your rite of passage should also be scheduled during this time.

Week Before/Week Of

Last but not least, during the last week before your quinceañera, you should finalize any remaining details and ensure everything is in order. Be prepared for any last-minute mishaps by packing an emergency birthday bag with toiletries, mini sewing kits, and first aid kits. As you await the most memorable birthday of your life, we hope you get plenty of rest during this final week!
