It was the perfect day. I loved getting ready at my mom's house. Our hair and makeup came to the house and we had drinks and breakfast. Then we could take pictures outside on the windy day. It was great to then be walked down the aisle by my dad. Getting married in my family church was important and special for us both. Then we took pictures and were able to enjoy the evening. We are blessed with amazing family and friends that helped make the whole weekend perfect. It was a great way to start our marriage.
My wedding dress was not what I thought I would end up choosing. My consultant was fantastic and gave me the time I needed to decide. It was comfortable, beautiful, and classic. I am more simplistic and it fit me perfect. I wore my sister's veil.
I enjoyed all the planning and activities with family and friends. We decided we were going to enjoy this time and make it about a marriage and not just a wedding. We also loved the cheesecake tasting!
We also had regular cake. My dad had to have heart surgery last winter and he was ADAMANT we had regular cake. So, I surprised him with a heart healthy cake Susan Deem made him. Here we are attacking it out of the box! No plates needed.
There are so many special memories from the wedding. But, my mom surprised me. We have a little lab corgi. I come out of the bathroom and see there is an ice sculpture of our dog! It was awesome!
