Congratulations! You are engaged! Now the real fun starts. Planning. You want your months ahead to be filled with exciting and enjoyable planning. But ultimately, what you really want is a perfect, stress-free wedding day. That means the next few months could be crazy. But better now, than the day of your wedding, right? The team at Michelle's Bridal and Tuxedo have been helping Brides and Grooms plan successful events for over 30 years. We have years of experience and advice that can help newly engaged couple plan the perfect day. Here are a few tried and true tips for getting started: timeline1) Start Planning Early: You might think you have tons of time, but don't delay. Many vendors book up months or even years in advance. Designer wedding attire, like most BridalBridemaids, and wedding party attire from Michelle's Bridal and Tuxedo can take many months to arrive. Find a planner at your local bookstore or a free printable/downloadable one online with a timeline included, or hire a wedding planner to help get you started on the right foot! Don't start off your wedding planning by being dissappointed that the photographer or venue you wanted is already booked. budget2) Set a Budget: If you have a long time to plan, it's easy to over-spend buy buying a little here and a little there for months and months and not realizing how much it adds up. Setting a budget early and prioritizing the more expensive items will help you know where to cut back. As the day gets closer, having to choose between the perfect earrings or adding an appetizer can cause unneeded stress. Get those priorities budgeted for early in the process, so you know how you are doing up front. Pay for as many things as you can early, so finances don't start weighing you down right before the wedding. In addition to the planning binders, there are lots of easy to use online speadsheets out there to help you with this step. delegate3) Delegate: You don't need to be the only person doing all the planning. Asking for the Groom, a Bridesmaid(s) or your Mother(s) to handle specific jobs is a great way to get family involved, and take small worries off of your plate. Give your delegates specific instructions (if you have them) and ask them to take care of all the details, like calling the limo company, or reserving a block of rooms at a local hotel. There are lots of jobs that can be handled by members of the wedding party or friends. Be sure to delegate someone to have vendor and important contact information handy the day of, so they can be the person that oversees any last minute changes or potential disasters. cake_flowers Cake by Cakes by Lori and FLowers by Flora Design Studio 4) Hire only vendors that you trust: Michelle's Bridal and Tuxedo works with some of the best vendors in the East Central Illinois and surrounding areas. Hiring professionals is the best way to insure that your wedding day plans will happen without a hitch. Do your research and look for reviews on wedding wire or social media, for the vendors you are interested in. Ask your stylist about our preferred vendors. They all come highly recommended and have years of experience in the wedding industy. sept_bride September Featured Bride: Allison {Lutz} Van Nattan 5) Relax and enjoy the fruits of your labor: When your wedding day draws near, try to relax and know that all the planning craziness is going to pay off in the end, and your wedding day is going to be flawless and stress-free.
