What color will you wear for your Wedding?
What color will you wear for your Wedding?
Mar 10, 2016
Little girls dream of their wedding day beginning with the huge white gown. For many decades white symbolized virginity and was worn by Brides to show purity. Nowadays the idea of wearing white and white only seems not only archaic, but rather nothing short of a horrible choice for many complexions.
Most Brides know that there are options between choosing white or ivory. But did you know that many bridal gown designers offer dozens of colors and color combinations for their gowns?
Take a look at a few of the amazing and beautiful color choices offered by designer Maggie Sottero:

WHITE: A true shade of white can be bright, and hard to wear. In certain natural light true white also tends to look bluish. Terry Hall, fashion director at Kleinfeld Bridal, recommends white for brides with natural golden or darker skin tones. If youre fair or have yellow undertones in your skin, the bright color of true white can wash you out. White is most often desired for snowy winter weddings or brightly colored weddings that have lots of pop.

DIAMOND WHITE: Diamond white is considered the best alternative to true white. It's a gentler color that is easier to wear, yet still bright and clean with limited yellowish tones. Although not offered by every designer, most high fashion designers will offer some "happy medium" between white and ivory. Colors like candlelight, soft white, or champagne white might be similar without being too ivory.

IVORY: Most bridal gowns on the market come in a shade of ivory. Depending on the fabric, the shades can vary by style and designer, although they are all called ivory. Mark Ingram, founder of Mark Ingram Atelier, says ivory can come off as more formal than white, since its a richer, creamier shade. "Ivory shades having a more luxurious and more sumptuous feel." according to Ingram. Ivory gowns are easier to wear with most skin tones and can compliment any wedding colors without being to bright.

LIGHT GOLD: Want something even more rich in color? Maggie Sottero offers many gorgeous gowns in shades of light gold. Some are light gold fabrics under ivory lace, organza or tulle giving these gowns a dynamic multi-colored feel that is both warm and bold. These colors are perfect for many skin tones, because they have softer undertones and can give even the fairest bride a warm glow.
