Before you go shopping for your wedding gown, it's a good idea to spend some time looking at pictures, or going online and doing some research about what style of gown you want. Buying a top quality gown is very important in order to get the proper fit. However, finding a silhouette that's right for your body is even more important.
Not sure what your perfect style is? The professional stylists at
Michelle's Bridal and Tuxedo have many years of experience when it comes to choosing the right silhouette for your body.
Here are the 5 most popular silhouettes from
Maggie Sottero's new 2015 Spring Collection and some tips on choosing what's right for your body:

Ballgowns: The beautiful full skirt of a Ballgown will never go out of style. Ballgowns are the gown of choice if dancing the night away in a fairy tale setting is what you're looking for. Ballgowns are commonly made of tulle or organza, and can often have many, many full layers.
Perfect for: Hiding larger hips and behinds. Giving the illusion of an hourglass figure by accenting the natural waist.
Avoid if: You're petite. Gowns is voluminous can swallow you up.

Camelia (top left) Westlyn (bottom left) Marty (right)
A-Line: A-line gowns are great choice if you're looking for a simple and elegant style. Not too poofy, not too slinky, a-line gowns are extremely figure flattering on Brides of all shapes, sizes and heights.
Perfect for: Everyone. The length of the skirt will not change the design, so these gowns are a top pick for more petite Brides. Because they are not form fitting, you can relax and not worry about every flaw in an a-line gown.
Avoid if: You want a statement gown. Or you are looking for something sexy.

Pilar (left) Arlyn (center) Shayla (top right) Elison (bottom right)
Slim A-Line: The slim a-line is the sexier twin sister of the traditional a-line above. These gowns are a hybrid version of simple lines and curvy curves. While these gowns are still "A" in shape, they do have a bit more fit through the hips without committing to the mermaid or fit and flare style.
Perfect for: An hourglass shaped Bride wanting a more modest style. Slimmer Brides wanting to create a bit of curve.
Avoid if: You are not comfortable showing any curves.

Sheath: On the beach or in the Garden, these amazing and lightweight gowns can go anywhere. Sheath gowns are often the gown of choice for destination weddings or outdoors. You can go anywhere from your back yard to Paris in one of these stunning styles.
Perfect for: Brides wanting a more delicate, less fitted style.
Avoid if: You have a curvy figure. The often lightweight fabric of a sheath gown will not hang correctly over many curves.

Fit and Flare: The modern fit and flare are the boldest of today's styles. They often have elaborate skirts with texture and color and are not for the faint of heart. Wearing a stunning fit and flare gown requires a great deal of confidence. All eyes will definitely be on you wearing a show stopper like this.
Perfect for: Brides wanting to show ALL their curves. Plus size Brides wanting a knock out style.
Avoid if: You don't want to be constricted. If you are petite, or if you have a boxy or slim figure with no curves.
