How They Met: Joe and I met our freshman year of college, while attending Southern Illinois University Carbondale. We became best friends immediately and were just friends for about three years. During which time, Joe joined the army and was deployed to Afghanistan. It was during his deployment that I realized I loved him way more than just a friend. Thankfully, he felt the same way, and after three years of dating, were getting married and couldnt be happier. How he Proposed: Due to the lack of time we get together, because of our careers, one of my favorite things to do, when Joe is home, is take walks together. It gives us time to be together and talk without interruptions. On one of the last nights he was home, he took me on a walk around the neighborhood and as we were coming back to the house, he got down on one knee and popped the question. It was just the two of us and it was absolutely perfect! Wedding Colors: Kelly green and navy blue How Many Bridesmaids: 5 Theme of Wedding (if you have one): Technically, we dont have a theme, but we are getting married on St. Patricks weekend and my family is a big Irish family, so we will definitely be playing into the Irish theme a bit. Wedding Venues: The ceremony will take place at St. Patricks Church of Merna and the reception will be at The Chateau. Both are located in Bloomington, IL. Why you chose to shop at Michelles Bridal: Michelles has helped dress my family for special occasions so many times before, and the staff could not have been kinder. I knew when I got engaged I wanted to go there because I knew they would be able to make the look I wanted come to live. Part of your wedding you are most looking forward to: I cant wait to see Joes face when Im walking down the aisle towards him. Where you are going on your honeymoon: Joe and I dont get the traditional honeymoon because of our careers. As soon as we can, we plan on taking a trip somewhere though.
