With the Etsy and Pinterest rage that is sweeping the wedding planning dreams of every bride, seems like everyone has creative and exciting ideas about everything for their wedding. Even down to the smallest details. One small, yet personal detail that Brides are embracing is personalized wedding hangers. It seems they have been gaining in style and popularity over the past few years, and are now available with everything from lace to beading to flowers and decor that match your wedding. When shopping for these hangers, I've discovered that some can be very expensive! My solution...Why not try to DO IT YOURSELF! Here's some amazing instructions on how to style your own!

What Youll Need: 14 gauge galvanized wire Wire cutters Needle nose pliers Wooden hangers Drill (choose a drill bit the size of your wire) Strong glue Pencil and paper Paint, lace and optional decor Step 1: Cut your wire to size. On average, youll need at least 10 to 12 inches of wire per letter. For example, if youre making the word Bride, youll need about 60 inches of wire. More is always better!

Step 2: Determine how you want your letters to look using a pencil and paper. Look online for some inspiration.  TIP: Clementine sketch (shown above) is a free downloadable font from dafont.com which makes for a great pattern! Step 3: Use your template as a guide to begin forming your letters. You can use your hands and the pliers as needed. Heres a tip: Cover the needle nose pliers in masking tape to prevent them from scratching the wire. It can take a bit of practice to get it right, but as you go youll find a method that works for you. If you make a mistake or get a kink in the wire, toss it and start over its not worth the effort.

Step 4: Decorate your hanger with paint, lace, or what ever you want. Many of the most beautiful ones are simply just stained wood, so no additional decoration is necessary. Step 5: Drill two holes on the inside of the hanger, about half an inch in. Dont go all the way through. Trim your wire to fit, if necessary. Step 6: Put some glue in the holes and on your wire, then stick the wire in and give it plenty of time to dry. Voila! Saving money and personalizing your own wedding accessories can be fun and rewarding.  Have fun creating your own personalizes wedding hangers, and keep it with your gown, for memories that will last a lifetime.   Pictures and contributions to the blog made by: wedding wire.com/Simply Sweet Weddings and Events QC Career School mrswigglebottom.com budgetfairy.com
