You can just hear the laughter. This is how one of Ginas family members described her and Aarons engagement images, and I think once again, its the perfect fit for their downtown Chicago wedding day.
Im pretty sure that the Shafer women have a way of making fate work specifically for them. While Ginas cousin Emily defied the geographical odds, Gina & Aaron have defeated the time odds. Having been friends in high school, it wasnt until 6 years after high school that their paths would again cross. Now, 5 years after that, here we are!! If you couldnt tell by the above photo, Gina is one of those confident ladies who isnt afraid to laugh out loud without care. And Aaron is the perfect guy to have right by her side, because in his own quiet, sneaky way, he is obviously always making her smile.We started off the day at the forever classy, Palmer House Hilton. Is it weird that I get excited about this popular downtown spot because I know they have great chairs? Abby & Pats nuptials last year had some killer green seats, and for Ginas morning, it was sleek classic white perfect for her gorgeous textured bouquet by Asrai Gardens.

The following moment with Ginas mom right after she finished helping Gina into her dress and when Gina turned around to look at her mom for the first time probably would have gotten me choked up regardless, but given that I had the opportunity to get to know this outstanding family last fall at Emily & Ryans wedding, this excitement was all the more overwhelming. And now I will stop describing it because its making me sweat all over again!

Ginas favorite place in all of Chicago is the Tribune Building, so what better place for the nuptials than the brand spankin new Howells & Hood restaurant right inside her favorite spot. With both the ceremony & reception being in the same location, I was able to capture all the simple little details, hand written by Ginas Aunt Anne, before guests arrived. Seriously Anne, will you please teach me penmanship?!
Gina, we already expected your beaming smile, so lets talk about Aarons within the first moments after your vows! We warned him my ninja skills would catch him! :)
With family photos complete before the ceremony, we were able to sneak in a little time just for the new Mr & Mrs at a very special spot (and a 1st time location for me!)

We soon returned so Gina & Aaron could spend all their time with family and friends, which of course, meant the party rocked on
