Raindrops keep fallin' on my head But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red Cryin's not for me 'Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complainin' Because I'm free Nothin's worryin' me Famous pop singer B.J. Thomas may have said it best, you'll never stop the rain. But Kara and Ryan Snyder knew that complaining or crying was definitely not for them. Quick thinking and preparation were the keys to this newly married couple's wedding day being worry free. In the days prior to Kara and Ryan's September 1st wedding, Hurricane Issac was hitting landfall in the Gulf and bringing lots of rain to Central Illinois.  Knowing the rain was inevitable gave Kara and Ryan time and ideas on how to best prepare for the inclement weather. According to Kara "Since we knew the rain was coming, we had the bridesmaids bring rain boots and the wedding party bring umbrellas...we were able to use them for pictures, but we also used them for the reception entrance." Luckily, prior to the ceremony some clear moments made things perfect for arriving wedding guests. During those fleeting hours of sunshine, the cake from Janet's Cakes was delivered without incident, and the wedding party was grateful for some moments outside for pictures. Photographer Katelyn Turner of Katelyn Turner Design was able to capture some unique outdoor photos, including those that showed the amazing spirit of this couple. Despite the rainy conditions the day went flawlessly, and even after numerous hair and make up touch ups, no one minded the weather outside when this beautiful Bride made her appearance. When asked about her advice for other brides Kara said "Enjoy the planning...it will truly all be worth it in the end! It's so rewarding to see all of your hard work pay off and see everyone enjoy the day." This was even more true for Kara and Ryan because of the last minute adjustments, but their planning and preparation truly paid off. Kara and Ryan's rainy day turned out to be one everyone will remember. The rain boots, and umbrellas were well received by all for the reception entrance and "It brought some humor to the day." according to Kara. So no matter what Mother Nature has in store for your day it's important to remember that beautiful wedding days are made of unforgettable moments that are unique and rare. Without a little rain, we would never be able to enjoy a rainbow. Written by: Melissa Guidas, Veteran Consultant Michelles Bridal Shoppe, Urbana, IL
